WHEN TO LOOK FOR SALES
Clothing can be very expensive, but the wise shopper knows when to buy certain items.  In fact, one can save substantially by buying during storewide sales that are traditionally held each year.  The economical shopper should buy during these sale periods to stock up for the following year.  Certain items of clothing go on sale each year at the same time.  These times and corresponding items are as follows:

Labor Day- Summer and transitional clothing.  Labor Day is a good time to buy shorts, swimsuits, and other lightweight clothing.
Columbus Day- Coats and jackets.  Coats and jackets also go on sale at the end of the winter season.
Election Day- All departments.  Fall clothing is on sale at this time so that stores can clear out fall collections to get ready for holiday items.
After Christmas- Holiday items. After Christmas is a great time to stock up for the next holiday season.
President's Day- Winter coats. President's Day is another time for gigantic storewide sales.
Memorial Day- Spring and summer clothing.  Check for further sales in other departments as this is a big sale day.
